I was very skeptical about what the food would taste. Every time I try food that is a new spin on southern cooking, I am usually disappointed. I was pleasingly surprised. The turkey, Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, and ribs were great. I had a sampler plate of every item available, and those were my favorites. The staff was very friendly and attentive, even with how busy it was. Beautiful property. Hard to find, GPS couldn't figure it out, but I found it. Great experience for a $32 all you can eat buffet. Many of the people I spoke with were returning customers. I can see that.

Christy was a fantastic waitress. Happy, patient and considerate. The food was fresh and quite tasty. Seafood bisque was perfect. Fried green tomatoes quite unique and worth it.
From the moment we were greeted with smiles and upbeat vibes, we knew it was going to be a good afternoon. We sat outside and enjoyed the breeze and lakefront views. The service was outstanding, and the food was phenomenal! We started with the glazed Brussels with bacon, oh myβ¦addicting! My husbandβs crabcake was amazingβ¦no filler, luscious lumps of crab, and I had the blackened grouper with peach salsa which was incredible! Our first time there, but we will be back!
Overall great service and excellent food. Loved the fried green tomato appetizer and the chicken and waffles meal!! The tomatoes are layered with a yummy filling. As for the waffles, they have a wonderful outer, crunchy texture that's super sweet. I ate half there and the other half for lunch the next day, and it was almost as good on Day 2! The service was great for most of the meal, but towards the end, the restaurant was busier and the server seem to disappear for a while. I ordered a cocktail from the seasonal menu (something with apple cider), which was OK. The cocktail was $15 and the chicken and waffles was only $2 more at $17! I'll definitely be skipping the cocktail in the future!
Whenever we are in town, I love to go to this restaurant. The service is fantastic, the ambiance and location is top-notch (especially outside seating) and the food is fantastic. We have been here several times over the last year, and I recommend you should as well. Located on the first floor of the Lakeside Lodge, it has a great menu and excellent wines. Service is outstanding. Recently we have had Madison, Kristie and Kendall, and all were friendly, helpful and engaging. I love the ambiance of this location. The inside is cozy and comfortable. The outside has great views and is relaxing. On a nice warm day, stop by and kick back and enjoy a nice glass of Kuranui Sauvignon Blanc or Aperol Spritz. For food we have had several items like the Depot Burger, but my favorite is the Chicken Salad Croissant (with fries). Of course the Triple Chocolate Cake is moist and delicious. So if you are in the area, stop on in! You will love it!
Another great visit. Food was great, service was good. The 5 cheese mac and cheese is my favorite. Love the Creme Brule. When my wife asked if I wanted to try it, my first thought was a hotel restaurant for supper? I'm glad we tried it. The food was good and the service was good. Our waitress was stretched a bit, trying to run inside and outside, but she did a good job.
The food was absolutely amazing!! Will definitely keep coming back to finish trying the rest of the menu!! We took our son there for his birthday lunch and was so happy that we did! Crab cakes and risotto are absolute musts if you haven't tried it yet! Service could have been a whole lot better though. Seemed like most of the staff was up beat and pleasant except unfortunately our male server. So if there was anything I would suggest is ask for a female server because you will for sure not enjoy your entire experience here other than that it was beautiful
We just had an amazing Thanksgiving Day meal (2025) at Traditions on the Lake. In addition to the obligatory turkey and dressing, they had ham with sweet potatoes and/or mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, fish, chicken drumettes, and even BBQ ribs! Additionally, they had a nice salad bar with green salad and egg salads. We had a 1PM reservation and there were lots of people waiting but Ray had us graciously seated by 1:05. Our waitress, Kristie, was on top of our drink requests and quick to pick up our plates when we went back through the line for a dab of seconds. If I had to make one suggestion, it would be to have some automated reply to the reservation. I was nervous b/c even though I had called to confirm my reservation a week before and was told "we gotcha", I'm used to having something in writing that shows I'm really confirmed. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to next Thanskgiving already!
